What it's about

Tasks repeat either the classic way, by calendar, or “dynamically” – N days after the last time they were ticked off.

Why it's here

Some tasks need to happen at fixed times (bins out, every Thursday). Others follow from the last time you did them: “change the bedding” doesn't need to happen every 14th day of the month, but 14 days after you last did it. The classic calendar model misses the point here – patchio's “N days after completion” matches the real maintenance rhythm.

How it works

When creating a recurring task, you choose the calculation basis: either from the due date – the next occurrence is calculated from the planned date (classic, like a calendar event). Or from completion – the next occurrence is only set once it's ticked off, exactly N days later. The second option is the one that really works for maintenance routines that don't need to sit rigidly in the calendar.

In practice

You set “Vacuum the car interior every 14 days” to “from completion”. If you do it today, it shows up again in 14 days. If you take three weeks instead, the next date is 14 days after that later completion – no backlog of twelve overdue vacuuming tasks piling up from the past.
