Can anyone see my gift ideas?

Not if they're in the “Just for you” field: nobody else can read it, not even an admin, and it's left off the printout. The “Gift ideas & notes” field above it, on the other hand, is visible to everyone.

Does patchio remind me in time?

Yes, on the day itself or a few days before – you set that per occasion. For a celebration with a time there are also short notice periods like “30 min before”.
