Sound familiar?

That's exactly what patchio is for: one app where everything comes together.

  • Three calendars, five WhatsApp groups, and you still don't have the full picture.

  • Who has the child this week? Who's doing the shopping? Who paid for what?

  • Important information sits in five different apps.

  • Events only half the family knows about.

“How do you actually remember it all?” A staged scene, AI-produced – the app in the video is real.

The difference to five separate apps

It all fits together.

Separate apps know nothing about each other. In patchio, every module shares one calendar, one sense of who's home, and one set of insights – no collection of apps can do that.

One calendar. One family.
  • Tasks show up in the calendar on their due date

  • Meal plan knows who's home from the parenting schedule

  • School puts holidays, assessments and school trips into the calendar

  • Vehicles put roadworthiness and service deadlines into the calendar

  • Health plans workouts straight into the family calendar

  • Finances pull contract and vehicle costs into your insights

What you need every day.

Calendar, shopping and meals, tasks, shared costs and the parenting schedule – the five areas your everyday life runs on. Everything else is listed below and included in the same price.

Calendar & events

A calendar everyone actually looks at – and that shows only what it should.

  • A family calendar as month, week or agenda – with “My calendars” you show and hide whatever you need right now. You choose which view it opens with, and public holidays for Germany, Austria and Switzerland are already built in.

Events are stuck across three calendars, and nobody has the full picture.

  • Every event is private, shared with specific people, or visible to the whole household – you decide, entry by entry.

Some things are just for you, others concern the whole household.

  • patchio takes care of complex repeats and multiple reminders for you – as a notification in the app, on your phone or on your Mac and PC, and by email too if you like. If the time changes after the holidays, the change applies to “this and all following events” – everything before stays as it was.

Weekly, monthly, every other Friday – and in the end someone forgets anyway.

  • patchio brings in your events from Outlook, Google or Apple by itself every 30 minutes – just for you or for everyone. The other way round, you add the family calendar, including tasks that are due, to the calendar you already use.

Your work calendar lives in Outlook, training in the club calendar – nobody wants to enter it all twice.

  • A packing list for swimming, camping or the handover: set it up once as a template, attach it to the event, tick it off – and the other household ticks along too if the event is shared. Photos and PDFs go on the event as well.

The same packing list in your head before every trip to the pool – and the note from the doctor is somewhere in the photo gallery.

Meals & shopping

From “what shall we cook?” to a full trolley.

  • On your phone, just type what you need at the bottom – patchio automatically sorts it into the right category and gives each item an icon so you find things faster in the shop. The shared list is always with you, works offline too, and sends the others an “I'm off to the shops” notification.

The shopping list is at home, and you're standing in the shop.

  • Fill in the week in the meal plan, and send the missing ingredients to the shopping list with one tap.

“What are we eating this week?” starts over every single day.

  • The pantry tracks what should be in the house: full, running low or out – one tap is enough. If you like, count exact stock, or give an item a restock rhythm like a subscribe-and-save order; on the due date it lands on the shopping list by itself, and ticking it off in the shop refills the pantry again. If an item carries a best-before date, patchio tells the household three days ahead – once, bundled, and switchable off.

Out of loo roll, forgot the milk – and you only notice once you're home.

  • Collect recipes in cookbooks – by URL straight from the web, or as a photo: snap a cookbook page and upload it instead of hunting for a URL. patchio resizes the image automatically, and it stays private within your household.

Favourite recipes are scattered across bookmarks and scraps of paper.

  • If an admin has turned on the optional “AI categorisation, recipe photos & school letters” switch, patchio reads a whole recipe from pasted text, a photo or a PDF at the tap of a button – ingredients with amounts and the method – and the ingredients from a recipe photo. Everything arrives as a suggestion to check and edit, nothing is added automatically.

Retype the whole ingredients list from a photo, by hand?

Tasks & lists

Clearly assigned, instead of “someone will do it”.

  • Lists with categories, repeats and rotation share out recurring to-dos fairly – automatically, in turn.

Tasks pile up because nobody feels responsible.

  • With “first come, first served” anyone can grab a task, and if needed, getting it done has to be confirmed.

Two people grab the same task, and another falls through the cracks.

  • “Logged by / when” shows clearly who entered or ticked off what, and when.

“Did you actually take the bins out?”

  • “Reminder in advance” gets in touch before the deadline, say three days before, and every morning until the task is done if you like.

The deadline is set – and you only remember it on the day itself.

  • Anyone who can't do it hands the task back with one click, with a comment if they like – you hear about it straight away and reassign it.

Assigning is quick – but what if someone really can't?

Finances

Who paid for what, who still owes whom – and where does the money actually go?

  • Split expenses evenly, by percentage, by share or exactly – patchio totals up balances and simplifies debts into as few payments as possible.

By the end of the month, nobody remembers who paid for what.

  • The contracts tool bundles subscriptions and contracts with documents and cost shares – and the cancellation radar reminds you of notice periods in time, before anything renews.

Subscriptions and contracts keep running even when nobody needs them any more.

  • The multi-account model keeps your accounts and categories apart, and with an opening balance every account card shows the current balance with a trend line for the last twelve months. The standing order helper, recurring expenses and settling shared fixed costs keep everything tidy.

Several accounts, shared and private expenses – it's easy to lose the thread.

  • Insights show every category with its share, the comparison with last month and the trend over twelve months – switchable between “just me” and “together”. A Sankey diagram shows where the money flows, annual bills can count in exactly the month they're due, budgets with a traffic light warn you before a pot tips over, and savings goals fill up automatically towards a car, a holiday or a renovation.

Are you actually spending more on groceries lately – or is it just in your head?

  • Attach a receipt photo or import your bank statement: patchio reads CSV, CAMT XML and Excel files, recognises Sparkasse, N26 and Revolut by itself and shows you every transaction for review before anything is added. The file is only read in your browser and never leaves your device – patchio needs no bank connection. The optional AI categorisation sorts entries for you, using as little data as possible, if you turn it on.

Receipts go missing, and copying them out is a chore.

Parenting schedule & who's home

See at a glance who's where and when.

  • Set up a parenting schedule per person – from ready-made patterns or your own, starting on a set date and with an end date if you like – and everyone sees the same thing.

“Are the children with you or me this week?”

  • You add exceptions in plain text, without rebuilding the whole pattern.

Holidays, birthdays, a spontaneous swap – the schedule is never quite right.

  • The dashboard shows “who's home”, and presence avatars appear right in the calendar and the meal plan.

Who's actually home today, when I'm planning or cooking?

  • If on any day there's nobody at home to look after a small child, grandma or the dog, patchio warns you before anyone notices: the “Coverage” card on the dashboard shows the gap until someone is entered.

You're both away – so who's actually looking after the dog?

New to Germany?

patchio already knows the local calendar.

If you've just moved here, there's a lot to get your head around: school holidays that differ from state to state, public holidays, loyalty cards at every till. patchio takes some of that off your plate – in English, from day one.

  • Public and school holidays

Public holidays for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, plus the school holidays for all 16 German states, all Austrian states and seven Swiss cantons – as a layer in your calendar.

  • School emails become events

Forward the school's email to your family email address: patchio picks out the date, time and place and adds the event to your calendar.

  • Payback and DeutschlandCard

These are Germany's big loyalty programmes – you'll be asked for one at almost every till. patchio keeps the whole family's loyalty cards on every phone; one tap and the code fills the screen.

  • English throughout

Everyone chooses their own language, English or German. The app and the help pages are fully available in English.

  • Francs or pounds

Euro is the default. If you live in Switzerland or budget in pounds, switch your household to CHF or GBP.

  • Hosted in the EU

Your data is stored on servers in the EU (Ireland region). No ads, no third-party trackers.

For every kind of family

Two homes. One shared plan.

Family doesn't always fit inside one household – and that's fine. patchio works for separated co-parents just as well as for blended families, grandparents who help plan, or co-parents where life simply runs across two homes.

  • One account, several homes

Your own home, your ex-partner's, the grandparents' place – you plan it all from one login.

  • Sharing what's meant to be shared

Visibility is set per entry: private, shared with a specific household, or visible to everyone.

  • The parenting schedule everyone sees

Who's with whom, and when, lives in one place – no more constant asking.

Made for children

Earn points, redeem rewards – fair and easy to follow.

“Tidy your room already” becomes a game with clear rules: children do their tasks, earn points and redeem them for rewards – and everyone can always see who's done what.

  • Do tasks, earn points

Children tick off their tasks and earn points for it – no nagging, no reminding.

  • Kids request rewards – you confirm

Kids exchange the points they've earned for rewards you've agreed on together beforehand. They request the reward, a parent confirms – only then are the points deducted.

  • Shared out fairly: rotation, or first come, first served

Recurring tasks cycle through in turn, or go to whoever gets there first – nobody is always the one stuck with it.

  • Transparent for everyone

Everyone can see who has how many points and what's coming up – which takes the argument out of “but it was my turn”.

  • History & bonus

Statistics show the points balance and its history – and parents can award bonus points for extra effort.

Children without their own phone are simply added as a profile. Children under 16 only get their own login through an invitation from an admin with parental responsibility.

Why patchio

Born out of our own family life.

Hi, I'm Stefan – father of three. patchio came about because what our family needed simply didn't exist: one place that brings the whole of family life together. For us, everything was scattered – a calendar here, a shopping list there, arrangements spread across several WhatsApp groups, finances in a spreadsheet. A pile of separate solutions, none of them talking to each other.

So I built patchio: events, tasks, meals, finances and who's where, all in one place, made for real family life. Even when it spans more than one home. Honest, ad-free, with your privacy at the centre.

– Stefan, founder of patchio

patchio grows with your feedback: usually one update every week. All versions under What's new

Who we build patchio for

Three family setups we keep in mind while building every feature – maybe yours is one of them.

  • The nuclear family with a full calendar

Calendar, shopping and finances in one place – the daily back-and-forth between five apps and two chat groups stops.

  • Co-parenting, two homes

Both households see the same parenting schedule – and still nobody sees more than what's been shared. Visibility is set per entry.

  • Two working parents, with childcare

The babysitter sees only the children she's looking after – with a checklist, a log, and the right number in an emergency.

One price. For the whole family.

No free tier – and no ads. Because you pay, we don't need to sell your data.
