patchio on your Mac and PC.
You plan the week at your desk and tick things off on your phone when you're out. Installed, patchio runs on a Mac and on Windows like an app of its own – straight from the browser with no store, or on a Mac from the Mac App Store. The data is the same as on your phone.

patchio in a window of its own on the computer
What installing it gets you.
It's the same patchio as in the browser – just right where your other programs are.
A window of its own
No address bar, no tabs: patchio opens in a window of its own like any other app and no longer gets lost among your open browser tabs.
In the Dock and the taskbar
The patchio icon sits in your Mac's Dock or in the Windows taskbar – one click and the family calendar is open.
Starts even without a connection
On the train or on shaky Wi-Fi, patchio still opens and shows you the last state it loaded.
The same data as on your phone
It's the same account, not a second system: whatever you add on your computer, everyone else in the family sees too – on their phone, in the browser or in the iPhone app.
How to install patchio.
Depending on your device and browser, it takes about a minute. All you need is your patchio login.
Mac with Safari
macOS Sonoma (14) or later
- Open app.patchio.de in Safari and sign in.
- In the menu bar, choose File → “Add to Dock”. You'll also find it behind the share icon at the top right.
- Confirm with “Add”. patchio now sits in your Dock and opens in a window of its own.
Chrome or Edge on Mac and Windows
current versions
- Open app.patchio.de in Chrome or Edge and sign in.
- Click the “Install” icon on the right of the address bar (a small screen with an arrow). Can't see it? Use the browser menu (⋮ or …) → “Install patchio” – depending on the version, it sits under “Cast, save, and share” or “Apps”.
- Confirm with “Install”. patchio opens in a window of its own; right-click its icon to pin it to the taskbar or keep it in the Dock.
iPhone and iPad
from the App Store
- Download the patchio app from the App Store.
- Sign in with the same account as on your computer.
- Done: events, lists and tasks are the same everywhere – and on the iPhone, reminders also arrive as push notifications on your lock screen.
Mac App Store
for Macs with Apple silicon
- Open the App Store on your Mac and search for “patchio”.
- Download the app and sign in with your patchio account.
- This is the iPad version in a Mac window, including push notifications just like on iPhone. For the larger layout with the sidebar, use Safari, Chrome or Edge.
Android phone? There, add patchio to your home screen from the browser menu.
Good to know.
Notifications land in the bell
On your computer, patchio shows you reminders and news from the family in the bell at the top of the app. If you turn it on in your profile under “Notifications”, they also arrive as desktop notifications, even when patchio isn't open.
Signing out tidies up the device
So that nothing about your family is left behind on a computer, patchio deletes the data stored on this device when you sign out – including changes made offline that haven't been sent yet. If you've been working without a connection, only sign out once patchio has been back online.
Updates arrive by themselves
The app installed from the browser picks up new features automatically the next time it starts with a connection – no download, no store update.
patchio on your computer: common questions.
- No. It's the same patchio with the same subscription, however many devices you install it on. A subscription covers a household, not a device.
- No, it's the same patchio web app, just in a window of its own with its own icon. That's why all the data is the same as in the browser, in the iPhone app and on your family's devices.
- Both are the same patchio with the same account. The browser app shows the full layout with the sidebar on your computer and is our pick for the desk. The app from the Mac App Store is the iPad version in a Mac window; it brings push notifications like on iPhone and runs on Macs with Apple silicon.
- Firefox doesn't yet offer installing sites as apps on every computer. patchio runs perfectly well in a Firefox tab – for a window of its own with an icon in the Dock or taskbar, use Safari, Chrome or Edge.
- Like any other app: on a Mac, delete it from your Applications folder in Finder; in Chrome and Edge, choose “Uninstall” from the menu in the app window. Your data isn't affected – it lives in your patchio account, not on the computer.
