What it's about
Homes are the places your household lives – a maintained list with address and coordinates. They supply the weather module with the right location and serve as the “home” in the parenting schedule.
Why it's here
A household often has more than one address: main home, weekend house, the ex's flat. So the weather module knows where “home” is, and so a home can have a real address with coordinates, this management area exists.
How it works
Here you maintain one or more homes per household, with address and coordinates. One of them is the default for the weather module; every family member can override this individually in their profile, though (the child who commutes, say). The addresses on file also show up as a suggestion for event locations.
Directions to a home
If a home has an address, a directions icon sits in the top right of the card. Tap it to open the address in your maps app – handy for sending someone the way to the second home, or driving there yourself. The card itself stays tappable for editing.
No mandatory step before the parenting schedule
You don't need to prepare anything here before setting up a parenting schedule. You can create a home right in the parenting-schedule editor – a name and a colour are enough, and the rotation is ready to use right away. This page is where you maintain a home's address details: the full address and coordinates, for the weather and as an event location. So if you only want to set up a rotation, you can skip this page entirely; if you want a real address on file, this is the right place.
In practice
Say your household has “Kassel” as its default home and “Sauerland cabin” as a second address. The weather widget shows Kassel for everyone – except for the person who commutes and has overridden it to Frankfurt in their own profile.
