Dates & deadlines (HU, insurance plate, service)
Fahrzeuge im Kalender: Fristen und Buchung

What it's about
Every vehicle can have deadlines – the HU/TÜV (the German roadworthiness test, like the MOT), the annual insurance plate (scooter/e-scooter), servicing, tyre changes, vehicle tax, or a deadline of your own. patchio keeps track of them for you.
How it works
In the vehicle, open “Dates & deadlines” and add a deadline. Depending on the type, sensible defaults are already set: the HU repeats every 24 months, the insurance plate renews yearly on 1 March, and the lead times for reminders (6 weeks and 1 week before, say) are pre-set. You can adjust everything.
If you live in Austria or Switzerland, the type picker also has the §57a inspection (known as the “Pickerl”) and the MFK roadworthiness re-test, each with a matching standard interval.
Calendar and reminders
A deadline with a date lands automatically as an event in your patchio calendar – and so in your calendar subscription (ICS) too. At the lead times you've set, you get a reminder as a notice (bell) and by email. Tap “Done”, and a repeating deadline moves automatically to the next date.
Deadlines by mileage – and “whichever comes first”
For a service, you can log a mileage instead of a date (“due at X km”) – or both together: “Due by: date + km” covers the typical servicing case (“in 2 years or after 15.000 km, whichever comes first”). The date part lands in the calendar as usual; patchio tracks the mileage part through your odometer readings.
With “Reminder (km before)”, you set how early you get a heads-up – 2000, 0, say, for a reminder 2.000 km before it's due, and again once it's reached. As soon as a new odometer reading crosses one of these thresholds – whether you log it by hand or it comes from a fuel entry – the keepers get a notice (bell). Each threshold notifies exactly once; if you later move the deadline to a higher mileage, every reminder is armed again.
With “Interval (km)”, the deadline moves on automatically at “Done”: new target reading = current odometer reading + interval (+15.000 km, say). For a combined deadline, date and mileage move on together.
The “Next deadline” tile on the vehicle page factors this in: from your mileage trend, patchio estimates your usage and shows whichever deadline really comes first – if the HU comes before the service, the HU shows at the top; if mileage is driving it, you see “X km left”. Under “Dates & deadlines”, mileage-based deadlines also show how many kilometres are left.
Overview & driving licence
Under vehicles, you'll find “Upcoming vehicle deadlines” – every deadline for every vehicle, sorted by due date, with a note for anything overdue. And your driving licence reminds you in good time before it expires too.
