Insurance: your family folder
Under Finances → Insurance, you see at a glance who and what is insured, and how. Every policy is also a contract – the cancellation radar, documents (the policy PDF) and costs all run alongside it automatically.
Adding a policy
“+ Insurance” opens a form: type (third party, home contents, motor, health – statutory/private, income protection…), who/what is insured (people, vehicles, homes, resources, or free text – multiple selection), insurer, policy number, sum insured, excess, premium and payment frequency. Alternatively, every contract in the “Insurance” category automatically appears in the folder – you just add the insurance details.
Contact person & “in case of a claim”
Optionally add a contact person (name, phone, email) and a short note on “in case of a claim” – e.g. the reporting deadline, hotline number, or what to have ready. Both show up right in the overview; the phone number and email address are tappable links there (call or email).
Individual or family
Through visibility (whole household / private) and the contract holder, you control what the family sees. That keeps a private income-protection policy visible only to you.
Motor: one record
A motor policy that covers a vehicle still counts towards that vehicle's costs and TCO – you'll see the motor details (cover level, excess, green card) both in the folder and on the vehicle, and the accident report pulls the insurer and policy number from there. One record, three views: vehicle, contract, insurance folder.
Linking to the document vault
When you add an ID document in the document vault, you can optionally link it to a policy from this folder – handy for a child's health insurance card or an insurance policy document. Once linked, the policy here shows how many papers in the vault belong to it, with a tap straight there. The vault's own visibility rules still apply: someone who can't see a document can't see it through the insurance link either.
“What stands out”
A quiet, rule-based check of your recorded policies (e.g. “no private third party liability on record” or “no income protection recorded for one of you”). This is not insurance advice – patchio isn't a broker and doesn't recommend anything; it just checks your own entries against a few simple rules.
