Create a poll
What it's about
The polls module helps you decide things together – where to go on holiday, what's for dinner, which date suits everyone. An admin decides who's allowed to start polls (Manage → Members). Anyone in the chosen audience can vote.
Step by step
- Polls → New poll. Choose a template as your starting point.
- Question and options. Give the poll a title and enter the choices. For finding a date, you suggest several dates instead.
- Type. Set how people vote:
- Single choice – one option.
- Multiple choice – several, optionally with a maximum.
- Yes / No – a quick decision.
- Rating – rate every option with stars.
- Find a date – yes, maybe, or no for each date; patchio shows the best date for everyone.
- Who can vote? The whole household, or selected people.
- Settings. Result visibility, an optional end date, anonymous yes/no, whether votes can change, whether people can add their own options, whether comments are allowed.
- Save as a draft, or Publish. Publishing sends the audience a notification (in the app and by email, depending on their settings).
Sharing externally
Want someone without patchio access to join in (relatives, friends)? Open the poll and generate a link under Manage → Share externally. Anyone who opens it can vote without signing in. You can switch the link off again at any time.
Results, ending, archiving
You see the result live, as numbers and a chart, as soon as you open the poll. You can end or delete a poll at any time. Ended and expired polls move automatically to the archive.
