Recipes, meal plan & shopping
What it's about
Three building blocks that work closely together: your recipe library, the meal plan for the week, and the shopping list that draws on it.
Why it's here
“What are we cooking today?” and “What do I still need to buy?” are the two questions that seem to come up every other day in families. Keep the two separate and you double your work. patchio connects the three layers: a recipe moves into the week's plan, the week's plan fills the shopping list. One click, instead of three note-taking apps.
How it works
You add recipes with ingredients, method and an optional picture. Easier still: import from a URL on popular recipe sites (Chefkoch, Kitchen Stories, Lecker and others) – patchio fetches the title, ingredients and method itself. In the meal plan, you assign recipes to a day of the week and a meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Optionally, you push the plan's ingredients onto the shopping list automatically – you can run several lists side by side (Aldi, Lidl, holiday, say), and it works offline: add, tick off, delete even with no signal – it all syncs once you're back online.
In practice
You import “Pasta al Forno” from Chefkoch in half a minute, plan it for Thursday evening, and push the ingredients onto the Aldi list. On Wednesday in the supermarket, your partner sees that mince and mozzarella are missing – they tick them off as soon as they're in the trolley.

Who can change recipes
Anyone in the household can view, plan and push recipes to the shopping list. To add, change and delete recipes, you need the “Recipe library” permission – admins have it automatically, and anyone else gets it from a household admin under “Family”.
If you don't have it, the recipe dialogue shows this at the top and doesn't even offer Save and Delete. Before, you'd see buttons there that did nothing.
